Spray Park First

Thursday evening Parents as Teachers hosted an outing at the new Newton spray park. We'd never been to a spray park before so I thought it was a good excuse to go check it out.

At first Corynn was happy to just play at the water tables PAT had brought there.

Then she'd venture out when the fountains weren't spraying water

But eventually with the help of grandma and mommy, she got a little wet

Unfortunately about 10 minutes after we got there Corynn informed me that she had to go potty. With no restrooms in site, I told her she'd have to wait till we got home. So we saw a lot of "potty dancing" around the sprinklers and she looked pretty uncomfortable, but still had a fun time playing (when she wasn't thinking about having to go to the bathroom).

Even Todd got in on the swim suit action this week - July 11-17.

What happens when a little girl refuses to take a nap on a Friday afternoon while mommy has to get some bank work done?

She pretends to sleep on her Elmo couch (because she's SO tired),

... plays with EVERY toy in the house, leaving a path of destruction behind her,

and even is so gracious as to serenade her mommy while she works:

On Sunday Corynn wore one of my childhood dresses...

And even posed nicely several times (if you can call pulling up her skirt "nice") so I could remember and share this image with you!

Sunday afternoon was spent at grandma and papa Nickel's house. And since it was scorching hot outside, a splash in the backyard "pool" sounded appealing.

Grandma got out this little tub so that Corynn could walk from the patio into the boat/pool without getting her feet muddy, but Corynn found several other uses for it!

This looks like a prank waiting to happen

Corynn's red face makes me hot just looking at this photo, but she played outside - in the pool and at the park - for hours this afternoon!
