A Visit from Spring

This week we had a visit from spring. Several sunny days and a couple more days near 70 degrees were very welcomed!

Thursday was still cool, but nice enough to get outside for a little while in the afternoon. Grandma was nice enough to play in the sandbox with Corynn before the sun set completely.

After Corynn woke up from her nap Friday afternoon, I called our neighbors to see if we could get together to play outside in the beautiful sunshine. After a stroller ride down the road, we stopped by our their house and played for an hour or so.

Our neighbors Braden and Addyson are twins and just a couple months younger than Corynn. It's been months since we've gotten together with them, so it was great to play together again. The kids had a lot of fun playing with tennis balls and this basketball goal.

After we left our neighbors house, we had a few more minutes to play outside before the sun went down and we had to go inside for supper.

Everything was a little more fun without a coat, hat, and mittens

Riding off into the sunset

On Saturday we went into work with Kevin and did some shopping while he was busy till noon. Then after a bite to eat we all headed over to the Hutchinson YMCA for an afternoon swim! We all, especially Corynn had a great time in the pool. Unfortunately I forgot my camera in the car and didn't capture any of the fun in photos.

After a nap on the way home and another short snooze with daddy, there was still time for Corynn to get outside and play a little more before the cold front moved in.

I think the sunshine went to her head because Corynn sure was a goof playing outside.

Here's more proof of that:

At one point she even drove her 4-wheeler facing completely backwards. Our very own Evel Knievel - look out world!

Although the weather turned cold again on Sunday, we were still having fun at our house. Sunday afternoon we hosted the 5th Annual Nickel Family Groundhog Day Party (a few days early this year). We snacked while watching the movie "Groundhog Day" then enjoyed tacos and the fixings for supper.

Uncle Brent and Aunt Pam bought us all these cute groundhog headbands this year. Corynn wasn't too fond of wearing hers, but the rest of us wore our headbands all evening long.

No groundhog party would be complete without a groundhog cake
