On Monday, my parents hosted the Peters' Christmas gathering and for the first time in a very long time, the ENTIRE Peters family was in attendance. Both my cousins who live in Missouri and Colorado were in the area, as well as my aunt and uncle from Ohio. My grandma made an appearance too, so it was a wonderful evening of reminiscing and catching up with everyone!
While my dad gave everyone a tour of their new basement, Corynn enjoyed the toys down there with wide open spaces and smooth floors (she didn't even mind that the swing wasn't hung up)
The whole Peters family together for Christmas
On Thursday we were able to catch up with Kevin's cousin Russ and his wife Camille for most of the afternoon and evening! They just moved to Wisconsin (from Oregon) so we don't get to see them very often, but we have a lot in common with them so it's always nice to get together when they're in the area!
On Friday shortly before noon I received a phone call that we had another niece - Myra Joi Peters! My brother Jason and Renae had a baby girl that morning, so we made plans to visit them in the hospital that evening - at least we had something to do on New Year's Eve! (See the additional post for more on Myra Joi.)
New Year's Day was not only a 2011 holiday, but our final Christmas gathering of the season. The Funk family got together for a soup buffet, endless goodies, presents, games, naps, and fun!
Corynn helped cousin Sara practice her Christmas piece on the piano
Corynn and Adriana enjoyed the toys and shared them fairly well :)
Happy New Year to you all! Wishing you a wonderful, healthy, and happy 2011!!
Here are few more random photos from the week - December 27-January 2:
Corynn trying out an empty gift box - such a goof!
Grandma Nickel, Corynn, aunt Pam, and cousin Sophia after church on Sunday - Sophia's first time in church
Corynn had little interest in holding or seeing baby Myra when we went to Jason and Renae's house Sunday evening, but she sure enjoyed trying out all of their toys!
