Back to Normal

This week we had to try to get used to our normal routines again after vacationing for the past few days! Thankfully it wasn't too difficult as our normal routine is fairly laid back!

On Monday cousin Sam came over for a couple hours and we had fun getting out the tractors and farming all over the house! Corynn doesn't usual play with tractors, but Sam ALWAYS asks for them when he's here, and I think Corynn took a liking to them too.

Eating snacks with the babies

On Wednesday grandma Peters came over for the afternoon, we went walking at the Bethel trails in the evening, Corynn notified me twice that she needed her diaper changed (which is becoming more normal, so there's hope for potty training some day soon, right?), and she had a pretend phone conversation with "grandma" that consisted of more than just "Hi Grandma!" It was so cute!!

Playing in grandma's car - a must every time the grandmas come over

Reading stories with grandma and REALLY relaxing

This week Corynn helped me bake cookies! She always has to pull a chair up to the counter when I'm working in the kitchen, but this time she grabbed a measuring spoon out of the drawer and helped me scoop out the cookie dough onto the pans. I decided to video her helping me and caught this humorous clip:

This was actually the first time she realized she could eat the dough! Needless to say, she was done helping make the cookies after that and was only interested in eating them!

Uncle Jason and aunt Renae came over for supper on Friday and we had a good time catching up with them since we hadn't seen them for several weeks. Corynn has a (bad) habit of calling her Peters' uncles "aunt Kent" and "aunt Jason," so Jason decided they better come over quick and correct that! :)

The weather on Sunday was cool, but sunny, which was perfect because we participated in the Goessel Area MCC Crop Walk. Corynn even got a sponsor (ok, it was me) and rode in her stroller for six miles with grandpa and grandma Peters! This year everyone who participated received a T-shirt - even Corynn.

Here are a few more photos from our week - September 27-October 3:

We planted a new flower bed this summer - thanks to flowers from the grandmas - and Corynn loves to bring her buckets and shovel with us when we go out there to pull weeds

Almost daily she requests to go "smell flowers," which she literally does to nearly every flowering thing out there!

She loves to sit on her outdoor balls rather than bounce them, which works well since this one is quite flat

We bought this Pooh electric toothbrush for Corynn when she first started brushing her teeth, and although she prefers a manual one now, she wanted to play with this one one day this week - also while sporting her new hand-me-down Winnie the Pooh slippers.

Trying to get a sip of water and milk at the same time - and believe it or not, no one bet her to do this; she did it all on her own! What a goof!
