I had noticed some spots on the ceiling and walls in our guest bedroom, that Kevin identified as mold, so getting rid of them was my motivation for painting that room.
These were the nasty spots we needed to get rid of, and even though a bleach solution took them off, I still wanted to repaint and add some color to the room.
Here are the before and after photos of one side of the room. It took me most of the day Saturday and part of Monday to complete two coats of paint, but I thought it turned out pretty nice!
In the past we kept the doors to this room shut so we didn't have to worry about Corynn getting into our books on the bookshelf and other things, but I figured this weekend was a good excuse to childproof the room so Corynn could enjoy the newly painted space.
We put some of her books and stuffed animals on the lower shelves of the bookshelf and it didn't take her long to make herself at home in the room. Now we just have to keep from climbing the shelves!
It sure was a struggle, but on the 14th a new top tooth finally popped through.
On Sunday evening the Nickel family met at Athletic Park in Newton to celebrate grandpa Nickel's birthday. It was a great evening to be outside and Corynn enjoyed every piece of playground equipment within running distance!
Of course she enjoyed the swings - here with aunt Eunice and grandma
She had to try out ALL of the ride-on animals
The teeter-totter and sand piles were also a big hit
She crawled up on this bench and immediately spotted the moon in the sky behind her (she has a knack for spotting the moon anytime of the day). You can't see the moon in this photo, but you can see Corynn is pretty proud of herself for finding it!
A few other firsts from the past few days - September 6-16 - included:
- refusing to take a nap two different days- going potty before bath time on Friday and
- attending 2-year-old Sunday school
