She really got into playing with her Little People block set this week, always requesting that someone helps her build "big towers." Along with the blocks, Corynn has several vehicles that the Little People can ride in or on, and she enjoyed finding just the right person or animal to drive her tractor, tricycle, and ride on the wagon. Evidence of that enjoyment is in the video below:
(P.S. Corynn is wearing an outfit I once wore. My mom claims she looked so much like me on this day with that outfit and her blond pig tails.)
In addition to stacking her blocks, Corynn found a fascination with canned goods this week as well. After a trip to the grocery store one morning, she helped me unpack the grocery bags, but instead of letting me put them away, she insisted on keeping them and placed them all on her step stool which happened to be in the kitchen at that time. She played with these cans for quite some time, and then numerous other times throughout the day. She would line them all up - with the labels all facing the same direction - then stack them up, then take them all off the bench, and repeat this process over and over again. I sometimes can't believe some of the simple things like that that occupy her time for nearly hours some days, but I am so thankful for them!

This weekend brought another triathlon in Hutchinson and a Sunday without daddy as he went to a Royals game with the guys. Fortunately the sky was cloudy on Saturday for the race which made it tolerable to hang out outside for most of the morning, and of course Kevin's win made that easier as well.

Being silly while we waited for awards
On Sunday we went to church with and spent the afternoon and evening with my parents since Kevin was away. Corynn begged to go swinging after lunch, but amazingly it was raining outside. As soon as the sun came back out and the swing was dried off, she went swinging! We also visited my Grandma Peters who we hadn't seen in a couple weeks! I always love watching great-grandma kid around with Corynn.

Having fun at "papa" and "dra dra's" house on Sunday

Counting great-grandma's fingers (I tried to get a nice photo of great-grandma and Corynn, but they all turned out about like this because great-grandma was being so silly and Corynn was ready to go!)
Another new thing this week is that Corynn insisted on going to bed with some kind of musical animal or her CD player, and a book. She still had about 10 other animals and babies in bed with her, but she apparently needed some additional entertainment to help her fall asleep! Hey, I say "whatever works!"
Here are a couple other photos from this week - August 9-15:

Relaxing on her couch with ALL her friends

We recently bought a new tent and proceeded to set it up in our basement. Corynn loved playing in it, especially crawling in and out through this Corynn-sized whole in one side.
