Labor Day Weekend Without Daddy

Thursday afternoon, Kevin left with his siblings and spouses for a long weekend hiking trip in Colorado. That meant a long weekend alone for Corynn and me.

On Friday evening, my parents came over and took us out for supper at the Breadbasket! Great company and great food!

On Saturday my mom, Corynn, and I went shopping in Wichita for most of the day. We visited Bradley Fair Shopping Center, Dick's, Once Upon a Child, Kohls, and Sam's; and amazingly, Corynn did great - a sign she might be a little shopper herself in the future.

Sunday we went to church as usual, then met grandpa and grandma Nickel and great-grandma Nickel for lunch at the Breadbasket again! We spent a couple more hours at grandpa and grandma Nickel's house after lunch before heading to the nursing home in Goessel to visit my grandma Peters. After a good visit with another great-grandma, Corynn and I headed over to my parent's house, with plans to spend the night there since Monday was a holiday.

After only a couple partial sleepless nights - in a quiet, empty house - we had a great weekend with family!
