Only a year later, and I'm back to blogging! (Thanks for your patience!)
But not a moment too soon, right? Because guess who turned ONE today?!
Today is Stephan's first birthday!
So we gave him a present to open (or eat)...
and he and Corynn had fun figuring it all out!
This is the Elefun Ball Popper which plays 10 tunes while it shoots balls out of it's trunk. Stephan pretty much just danced to the music and walked away with the balls, but it didn't take long for him to figure out that the red button made the songs start up again.
After supper we gave Stephan a cupcake with a candle and sang Happy Birthday to him while trying to keep his hands out of the flame. Then he devoured the cupcake!
Stephan's actual birth day was pretty low key because we had already had his big ONE party last Saturday with his great-grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He enjoyed being the center of attention for the evening. Here he is enjoying his supper.
We served chicken salad sandwiches, fruit salad, fresh veggies, chips, and puppy chow for the meal.
Then it was time for presents...

Look at my new "wheels" mom!
Corynn was always (a little too) eager to help Stephan try out his new toys.
Stephan got a lot of great stuff: clothes, lots of toys with wheels, a teddy bear, and piano.
Then it was cake time!
We had a puppy-themed party for our little guy since he has liked puppies since he was only a few months old. If you ever wanted to get him to laugh or smile, you just had to say "woof woof" and he'd give you the biggest grin. To this day he still thinks that's pretty funny and now even makes the sound himself.
So I made him a puppy cake, of course.
Corynn helped him blow out his #1 candle.
Then it was time to dig in. He got the bone cake all to himself and enjoyed every last crumb.
We had a great time celebrating Stephan's first birthday with our families!
It's hard to believe he's one year old already (and hard to believe I haven't blogged in that long), but it's true!
For those of you who haven't seen us in a while, Stephan is walking all over, jabbering up a storm, and is typically a very happy little boy, always giving away smiles and waves.
Happy first birthday little guy!

Looks fun! And, Luke is always "showing" Kate how her toys work as well!
