Birthday #2!

Wednesday, December 15, 2010 was Corynn Jade's 2nd birthday! Because we had already celebrated with family on Sunday and opened all the gifts, Wednesday was a pretty uneventful day.

I asked Corynn what she wanted to do on her birthday, and when I gave her the option to go to playgroup again, she couldn't stop talking about it. So we did that for an hour in the morning, and then spent a lot of time playing around the house.


Playing with all of daddy's medals. Almost daily she gets out her container of medals, puts them all on, walks around, takes them off, and does it again!

At lunch, we lit the #2 candle and let Corynn enjoy yet another cupcake!

Wise birthday thoughts from a 2 year old: (This video is completely random; I had no idea what she would say and didn't prompt her beforehand.)


At supper we put more candles in her chocolate chip waffles and watched her blow them out. (Corynn requested waffles for lunch, and since I didn't have time to make them, I promised she could help me make them for supper. We usually put chocolate chips in our pancakes, but she insisted on having them in her waffles too. It's her birthday - she can have whatever she wants, right!?!)


Throughout the week (December 13-19) Corynn enjoyed playing with many of her new birthday presents, including her new sail boat sand box (in the freezing temperatures)...


and her new apron, hat, oven mitt, and hot pad.


On Sunday Corynn wore her new birthday dress from grandpa and grandma Nickel to church and looked like a precious Christmas angel!


She also enjoyed lots of playing at grandpa and grandma Peters' house in the afternoon.

She lined up all these stuffed animals for "choir practice" and then put them all to sleep...

Sunday evening we went to Night in the Barn on a farm near Goessel, but I forgot to take my camera out of the car so don't have any photos of the event. Corynn was wide-eyed and silent the entire time we were there taking in all the sights of the camp fire, llamas, cows, sheep, donkeys, and puppies; the smells of the farm; and the sounds of Christmas music and storytelling! What a wonderful event put on by the youth from our church!
